Jets Super Bowl Probabilities…
All across New York, there is a new sense of hope among the Jets Fandom. The team that has the longest active playoff drought in American sports honestly believes they have a chance to win a super bowl in 2023. So do they?
From a cultural and historical standpoint, No. The Jets have been among some of the worst franchises in American sports for the last 2 decades. But on paper, they may have the talent to contend this year. A Championship Caliber defense lead by Sauce Gardener as well as an improved offensive unit lead by new QB, Aaron Rodgers. Sure this roster is one of the most complete in the NFL, but they are playing in possibly the toughest division in the NFL. The Dolphins who made it to the playoffs last year, the Bills who have made it to the Divisional round 3 years in a row, and the patriots lead by Bill Belichick who are no team you want to overlook.
Outside of the division they have plenty of really tough games, such as the Cowboys, the Chiefs, the Eagles, the Chargers and the Browns. So yeah, this team may have one of the most complete rosters, but week in week out it feels like they are playing championship level teams, and I don’t know how well they are going to be able to keep up with these high level football teams on a weekly basis.

The #Jets are growing increasingly frustrated with Dalvin Cook’s indecisiveness and are seriously considering pulling their initial offer off the table.“What is he waiting for? We gave a very fair offer but he’s still hanging out in Miami and flirting… pic.twitter.com/tZZ8vGXWbW

Not to mention, the AFC is going to be the tightest and most competitive playoff race we have ever seen. Between the Steelers, Ravens, Titans, Broncos, Jets and Dolphins all fighting for a wild car spot, you have to remember only three of those six can go through to the playoffs, and given the Jets strength of schedule I have a hard time convincing myself the Jets will even be a playoff team let alone a Super Bowl contender.
Looking at the Jets Super Bowl odds, I don’t think its a good value play, they are coming in at +1600 (100 wins 1600) with the same odds as the cowboys, who have a one way ticket to the playoffs. Other teams with better odds include the Dolphins who sit at +2500. Personally, I can’t see a situation where the Dolphins don’t make the playoffs. I think they have a better chance to win the division and if they don’t win the division I still think they have a better chance to make a wildcard over the Jets. In conclusion, do not put a future bet on the Jets because it will not pay out, they will not win the Super Bowl, and they may not even make the playoffs.
